3D Rhino Commands – Guide #4

The 3D Rhino commands from this guide can be applied to your workflow and any project.

A command prompts the Rhino software to perform different functions to facilitate and speed 3D modeling. All commands can be entered into Rhino’s command line.

3D Rhino Commands in this Video:

OFFSET – Offsets a line or shape a certain distance.

Activate the Offset command in the Curve menu by selecting Offset Curve. 

PLANARSRF – Gives a surface to a closed curve.

Activate the command in the Surface menu and click on Planar Curves.

POINT – Creates a single point.

Activate the Point command in the Curve menu by selecting Point Objects, and clicking on Single Point.

POINTSON – Allows the user to edit a line or shape that is already made.

Activate the command in the Edit menu, choose Control Points, and click on Control Points On.

PROJECT – Projects curves or surfaces along an irregular surface.

Activate the Project command in the Curve menu by selecting Curve From Objects, and clicking on Project.

ROTATE – Rotates an object.

Activate the Rotate command in the Transform menu and click on Rotate.

ROTATE3D – Rotates an object in 3D.

Activate the command in the Transform menu by selecting Rotate 3-D.

SECTION – Creates a section cuts through an object.

Activate the Section command in the Curve menu, choose Curve From Objects, and click on Section.

SELDUP – Selects duplicates in a model.

Activate the command in the Edit menu by selecting Select Objects and clicking on Duplicate Objects.

SHOW/HIDE – Show makes objects visible while hide makes them invisible.

Activate the Show/Hide command in the Edit menu, choose Visibility, and click on Show or Hide.
